The
Macmillan 4x4 Challenge is an annual event and is the most well known
charity event on the off road calendar.
Approximately 50 teams of 2 set out to complete a variety of challenges in
order to raise money for charity. Entrants have no prior knowledge of the
route or the tasks ahead but will all have to compete day and night over
distances of up to 1000 miles. Navigation trials take place on tarmac and
special offroad sections. There is no satellite navigation, no laptops
and no GPS allowed!
It is a test of driving skill, navigational ability, teamwork and endurance.
In previous years the teams actually completed challenges in England, Wales
and Ireland!
We
completed the 2008 event without any major problems. We are
already planning and preparing for 2009! Please keep an eye on
the website for updates!
