In the 2008 event we competed in an almost completely standard Land Rover 110. This vehicle was manufactured in 1989 and still had its original 2.5l petrol engine (although LPG gas converted). The Land Rover performed admirably and didnt let us down once. The engine was underpowered and we have since replaced it with a discovery 200tdi conversion. This has improved the drive of the 110 beyond expectations. No more 1st gear on the steep hills for us! This has made absolutely no difference to our finishing place but we are hopeful for a better result in 2010!
